# August 10, 2026

## Authentication updates

We've made several changes to authentication to bring Middle up to a heightened standard.

### MFA

Middle now supports authenticator-based multi factor authentication, which is [documented here](/middle-docs/user-access/multi-factor-authentication.md). We encourage all installations to require an authenticator upon log in.

### Login expiration

Sessions now expire after 20 hours, down from 14 days.

We've also fixed an issue that would cause you to always land on the home page after being logged out. You'll now be redirected to wherever you were before the logout occurred.

## Health reports

We've added three Account-level health checks (or validations) that look for issues: Sync coverage, sync failures and workflow failures.

You can now set up a once-daily email that will send a summary of each account's health to each owner's email address every morning.

See [this documentation](#health-reports) for more.

## Other updates

We've slightly changed how workflow configuration errors work. Some previous errors (red) now show up as warnings (orange) or informational (blue). Workflows can now only be saved if all errors are resolved, and this can be adjusted in organization settings.

Updated restart limit of scripts from 30 to 50, which is helpful for some larger "complete transfer" style syncs that needed more time to gather data.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.middle.app/middle-docs/release-notes/august-10-2026.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
