# Create or copy a workflow

To create a new workflow, click **+ New Workflow** in the left-hand menu of your account. You have the option to copy and paste an existing workflow or create a new workflow.

## Copy and paste

With its copy and paste feature, Middle allows you to duplicate workflows across your Middle organization. This is done by enabling you to copy a JSON text representation of a workflow to your clipboard and paste it back into Middle to create a new workflow or workflow version. You have the option to edit this JSON text outside of Middle.

To copy and paste a workflow:

1. Click **Copy to clipboard** at the top of an existing workflow you'd like to copy
2. Your clipboard will now have a JSON version of the workflow copied to it
3. Click **New Workflow** in the left-hand menu and then **Create from JSON**
4. Paste the JSON copy of the workflow into the text box
5. If you want to create a new workflow, leave the dropdown as **No** and click **Create**
6. If you'd like to overwrite an existing workflow with a new version, select the desired workflow from the dropdown and click **Create**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.middle.app/middle-docs/building-workflows/create-or-copy-a-workflow.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
